It's always so much fun to photograph families with little kids but it's also fun and a nice change to photograph families with older kids (which also makes our job somewhat easier ;) The Wesselman's were all so photogenic and such a pleasure to work with. Eric & Erica Are Married | Atlanta Wedding Photography

We had the great pleasure to photograph Eric and Erica's wedding at the beginning of July. It was such a wonderful day (even if it was a kagillion degrees outside) and the bride and groom were glowing all day (and not just from the sweat.) The couple was married in the Old Courthouse on the Square in Decatur, Georgia, which was an amazing venue with beautiful light pouring in all day long, not to mention a fitting place since Erica is an attorney. There were so many great images from their wedding day that it is impossible to decide which ones should show up here, but nonetheless, here are some of our favorites. Thanks again Eric and Erica (and your families) for allowing us to be a part of your special day!

Sweet Baby Caitlin

I had the chance today to photograph this sweet little new born Caitlin! Well semi new born, she's almost a month old now but she's still just as sweet and cute. I love the feelings that babies always bring with them, of peace and innocences. I always feel so uplifted and happy after working with them. Enjoy!

Bridal's in the snow

So around here in Georgia we don't get snow or at least not very often. Maybe once a year and it only last for a few hours. This year however it seems we've been getting more than normal and although Macon hasn't seen to much of anything North of us has.

I had the pleasure of taking Kristi's bridals and the week before it had snowed a ton up North of us, but the day of her shoot we had beautiful blue skies. It was freezing and there were still patches of snow on the ground but it was sunny and beautiful, perfect for the beautiful bride.

The Great Barber Family

Wow it's been a long time, a really long time. Guess the time just gets away from you the more kids you have and you start forgetting about others responsibility's, like cleaning the house :) or blogging your photos. Well since it has been so long I'm not going to go back and post all my photo shoots from the year but here are just a few that I've done recently.

The wonderful, fabulous, Barber family! I love this family. Probably because they have boys the same age as my boys so we like to get together often to play, Carol try's all my baking experiments and gives me wonderful feed back, and she also is just the most beautiful women inside and out that you'll EVER meet. I'm so blessed and grateful for their friend.

This was just a quick little photo shoot I did so they could have a family photo to put on their Christmas cards. And when I say quick I mean quick probably like 20 mins. But fun none the less. :o) Also, yes they are expecting their 4th little bundle of joy and no they don't know what they are having and they're not finding out until the blessed birthday. Oh what patience, I couldn't ever do that.

If I ♥ Faces were a radio show, the beginning of this post would go something like this - "Hi, thank you so much for taking my call. I'm a long time listener, first time caller." Every week I ♥ Faces has a photo contest that focuses on a different theme. I've been tempted to participate many times, but never have. Well, I had a few minutes tonight and so I figured I might as well enter- just for fun.

Eric and Marisa's Wedding (our first attempt at weddings)

Stefanie's brother got married the day before Thanksgiving, and naturally, we took a bunch of pictures for them. The wedding was supposed to happen on the beach, but the weather decided not to cooperate and forced us all inside. However, we were able to get some shots on the beach once the rain stopped. Congrats to Eric and Marisa, and thanks for letting us capture part of your day!!

McCroan Family + Grandpa | Macon, GA Photographers

If you ever wondered what "rad" looks like ... then you are in for a treat, because the McCroan family are nothing but rad. (I don't remember the last time I actually used the word "rad", but it fits here).

Yesterday we got together with the McCroan Family for a little fun. They have a beautiful home and back yard, and it made the perfect setting for the shoot. We also got to meet Grandpa Dan. If I'm not mistaken, he recently lost his wife. I, for one, couldn't imagine losing my better half. But I hope his heart will heal soon. So, the first photo we wanted to share was of Grandpa loving his sweet grandkids.

Now on with the rest of the family. We had so many great shots that we couldn't decide which ones to post. So enjoy.

Carroll Family Shoot | Middle Georgia Family Photographers

I'm sure Cookie Monster would disagree, but "C" should be for Carroll, because shooting their family was like eating a fresh chocolate chip cookie right out of the oven... AWESOME!!! We have been wanting to do a shoot out at Indian Springs for a while now, and the Carroll family was up for the drive. Let me just say ... that place DID NOT DISAPPOINT. We could have been there all day with this family. We had so much fun. They are the cutest family ever. And if the board of cuteness ever needed a new leader, their two boys could easily be the president. We could go on and on, but why talk about them when we could just show you. (As a side note, I'm often partial to black and white pictures, but the colors were so amazing that we could find very few that even looked good in black and white.)

Long Time No See

Well, it's been a really long time since we have posted anything here. We have been extremely busy lately and we have loved all the family shoots that we have had. However, sometimes you just need a break. Anyway, we are back and are planning some awesome shoots in the near future. In the mean time, we thought we would post a few pics of our little family playing in the back yard.

First up is a small series to show that our youngest has started to WALK! As you can tell, he is a bit wobbly still.

Sawyer's face in this next one cracks me up. Now that he has figured out he can walk on his own (even if it is only a few steps), he does not want any help ... especially if his "helpers" don't take him where he wants to go. So he kept trying to pull his hand away from Caleb. It was pretty funny.

But he doesn't hold any grudges and loves kisses from his older brother.

Right before we came inside, we shot some cool shots through the window. I really like this series.

Eat'n good in the Neighborhood

Do you love Applebee's? We do but I'm not talking about the restaurant. We had a fun shoot with the Applebee family earlier this week. Both D & K Applebee are artist's and teach at Wesleyan College here in Macon. You can check out their website and see some of their awesome art work here. So, you all remember the Mizell's from the last post. Well, just down the street from their house is this really cool field with tons of flowers. Stef thought it would be fun to do a mini-shoot there with their daughter (and mom.) Let me just say, that when Stef came back with these images, I was pretty excited. Mom and dad Mizell better be on the lookout in a couple years when all those boys start knocking on their door! ;-) Courtney is going to knock 'em dead.

Of course, after "C" was done, her brothers had to play with her hat. Stef clicked these last few shots just before jumping in the car to come home. These boys are so fun. Laughing at everything!

Air Show

My friend Nicole and I went to the Warner Robins Air Show last Saturday and had a great time. She has two boys and I have two boys and it's always fun to get together and have them play. Since the air show was on base we had to park and then get bussed in. It was kinda weird not being able to go onto the base myself and having to get bussed in since I grew up in a Navy family and I've always had that privilege but oh well I married a civilian ;o) and of course wouldn't trade him for anything. Any ways the boys had fun seeing all the airplanes except when a jet starting flying and it got a bit to loud for them, we put their ear plugs in but they were all still screaming and crying. I got one shot of the jet in the sky and it's not even the best but that's all I could manage with two screaming kids clinging to me. It was fun none the less and once the jet stopped flying things settled down again. Enjoy some pics (I would have gotten more but my battery died, silly me forgot to charge it)

Re-fried Beans

The Great Griffins

Yesterday we had another fun family shoot. Meet the Griffins. Believe it or not mom and dad Griffin met online through a random instant message. A couple days after their first "chat" they realized that they were both members of the church. The rest is history. ;-) Now they have a precocious little girl who LOVES to run around. They took us to the campus of Macon State College, which was beautiful. Stef and I had never been there before. There were tons of trees, a lake, and a really nice walking path that meandered through the trees. Anyway, here are a few from their shoot. Enjoy.

Yesterday we had a blast with the Barber family. They have three boys who love to play at the park. Today we took a little trip out to a place called Elliot Farms. We went to pick some fresh strawberries, but there weren't enough ripe ones for the picking center to open. Stef got some AWESOME pics of Caleb and yours truly. So here's a little shout out to Stef.

Atlanta Fun

So you guys are probably tired of seeing me and my kids (although I'm sure the grandparents are loving this) but I'm just trying to practice as much as possible and well my kids are always with me and willing subjects (if you would like to be a willing subject you can contact me and I'd be more than happy to have a photo shoot with you). So here's some of our fun day we had up in Atlanta on Friday while Ryan was at a job fair (he did join us later on).

A peek at the Boyd Fam-damily

Ok, so our good friends agreed to let us "practice" our photo-skills on them. We had a great time playing on the hill next to the law school and shooting their awesome family ... and yes that includes their dog too. The kids had a blast, and we learned a lot ... namely that we are still shooting at about 10% (i.e., 1 in 10 shots turns out pretty good). But we did get a few good ones. Eric and Liz, once we finish weeding through all the pics we'll get you the good ones. Thanks again. Anyway, here is a small peak.

Playing Around with Another New Lens

So I got my other new lens today (EF 50mm f/1.4 USM) Let me just say it's awesome! It has amazing depth of field so I had some fun using it to it's fullest. Here are just a few. Hopefully the color looks ok, they always seem to fade when I export them onto the web.

So I took the kids down to the train tracks to have a little photo shoot. I think I got a couple goods ones but for one Caleb will never hold still for me or look at me so I have to chase him around with the camera which wouldn't be so bad if I had a much better lense. Number two the lighting was good but there were lots of trees around which gave me a lot of shadows so I need to work on this. Any way hope you guys in joy.

I've decided to start a small photo blog so I can have a place to put pictures that I take. I am not aspiring to be a professional, but I am starting to learn a little more about photography and would like a place to track my progress. So stay tuned, and let me know what you think.
